Prayers For Survival

How then do we live when our pathways to survival no longer sustain us? How do we thrive when we are required to enter the fire of collective dismantling?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whether we like it or even want to admit it, we are all in a simultaneous season of initiation. Our high holy days will not get us out of this mess, and neither will our projected ideals.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We are being invited to lean into a slow-burning heat that wants to consume us but not destroy us. We are destined for a transformation that requires a “Yes” that leads into the secret gardens that must be unearthed in each of us.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Wonder will save us, it will lead us to become breathless. It might also shatter the idea that effort and productivity will save us from the molasses of collective grief we’ve been choking down.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So in these liminal spaces where we find ourselves, I offer a prayer for you. Those engaged in wonder, those holding the reckoning fire and those bravely holding space.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yes to the grey between summer and fall.
Yes to the grey of letting go.
Yes to the grey of saying no.
Yes to the grey of standing on your own.
Yes to the grey of tenderness and pain.
Yes to the grey of breathing again.
Yes to the grey of limit and wait.
